An astronomical extravaganza is likely to enthrall skywatchers on April 8, when a total solar eclipse will transform day into darkness across North America. Total eclipses are stunning and darken the sky, but they can only be seen from a few sites. This is why seeing an eclipse is frequently described as a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

What is a solar eclipse?

A solar eclipse is an astronomical phenomena in which the Moon passes between the Earth and the Sun, blocking the Sun’s light completely or partially.

When the moon totally eclipses the sun, it throws a shadow on Earth, creating a “path of totality.” This path is a small band that travels across the surface. People standing inside this ring can see a total solar eclipse if the weather and clouds coincide. The sky will darken as if it were day or dusk along the path of totality, where the Moon totally covers the Sun.

Unless they are on the path of totality, they will only observe a partial eclipse. The sky will appear slightly darker to them after the eclipse, depending on how much the Moon blocks the Sun in their position.

Total Solar Eclipse Date and Timing:

The total solar eclipse of 2024 will take place on April 8. The total darkening of the sky, commonly known as totality, will be visible throughout a 185-kilometer area between Mexico, the United States and Canada. It will be shown in up to 18 different states in the United States. However, skywatchers in India would be unable to see it.

According to Indian Standard Time (IST), the total solar eclipse will begin at 9:12 p.m. on April 8, totality at 10:08 p.m., and terminate at 2:22 a.m. on April 9, 2024. Totality will initially occur on the Pacific coast of Mexico at 11:07 a.m. PDT, and it will exit Maine about 1:30 p.m. PDT.

Duration of the Total Solar Eclipse

Although totality will only persist for around four minutes, the entire process will take roughly two and a half hours. According to NASA, during the period of complete darkness, the greatest spectacle might endure up to 4 minutes and 27 seconds.

“The Great American Eclipse of August 21, 2017,” states that “the duration of totality will be up to 4 minutes and 27 seconds, almost double that.” The length of totality for most locations along the centerline (path of totality) will be between 3.5 and 4 minutes.

How Can I Watch the Eclipse Safely?

The brightness of the Sun’s surface is so great that staring at even a little fraction of it can cause individual retinal cells to be damaged. During its partial stages, skywatchers worldwide are encouraged to wear protective eyewear, such as authorized eclipse glasses. If you don’t, you risk burning the retinas of your eyes, causing irreversible damage or maybe blindness.

How Can I Watch a Total Solar Eclipse Online?

If you are unable to see the solar eclipse in person, you may watch the live feed from NASA. Beginning on April 8 at 5:00 p.m. GMT (10:30 p.m. IST), the space agency will broadcast live till 8:00 p.m. GMT (1:30 a.m. IST).

In addition, NASA will be conducting expert chats and offering telescopic views of the eclipse from several locations along the eclipse path during the program.

Additionally, you may see the live broadcast that the McDonald Observatory in Texas is hosting. On April 8, at 4:30 p.m. GMT (10:00 p.m. IST), the skywatching website timeanddate.com will also broadcast live coverage of the total solar eclipse on its YouTube page.

Is My iPhone 15 Overheating? Here Are Possible Causes and Solutions!

Is My iPhone 15 Overheating... Here Are Possible Causes and Solutions

When Apple introduced the iPhone 15 series in 2023, it elicited mixed reactions due to overheating difficulties that afflicted nearly every handset. The company initially blamed the problem on a startup error and released an update to fix it.

However, complaints have surfaced of iPhone 15 series customers experiencing high temperatures once more. Is this just another problem, or is there a fundamental weakness in the design that has shown as summer temperatures rise? Let’s find out.

iPhone 15 overheating: Is it a software fault or a design flaw?

Initially, the iPhone 15 series’ overheating problem was caused by software flaws, which led smartphones to run unusually hot when booted up. However, as summer temperatures rise, stories of iPhone overheating have resurfaced. While it is usual for phones to overheat in hot weather, the fact that iPhones become inoperable when temps rise is aggravating, to say the least.

The upgraded processor in the iPhone 15 series could be one of the causes of the heating problem. According to Notebookcheck, Apple expected these devices to run warmer than their predecessors. Although this information is unsubstantiated, it offers one plausible reason for the situation. Furthermore, Apple’s contemplation of a Graphene cooling option for the iPhone 16 series indicates that the heating issue is more serious than previously imagined.

If the heating problem is caused by a cooling issue, there may not be a single solution. However, you can take numerous actions to guarantee that your iPhone remains within safe operating temperatures.

1. Close the Bluetooth and other settings.

If you feel your iPhone heating up while on the go, the first step is to turn off Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and location services. While these functions are useful, they consume a large amount of computing power, adding to the device’s heat buildup.

2. Remove the casing.

Almost everyone uses a case to safeguard their phone, as repairs can be costly. However, because these cases form an enclosure around the gadget, they trap any heat generated by it. Remove the case in warmer areas to improve airflow and heat dissipation.

3. Turn on Airplane mode.

If your iPhone has already overheated and you need it to cool down immediately, turn on Airplane Mode. This disables all wireless signals and associated processes, saving up system resources and assisting with cooling.

4. Upgrade to the current version.

If the preceding procedures do not work, a software flaw could be to blame for the overheating. In such circumstances, updating to the most recent iOS firmware is recommended, as Apple frequently addresses these vulnerabilities.

Elon Musk Reveals Free Access to X Premium and X Premium+, but There’s a Catch

Elon Musk has revealed that certain users on the microblogging network X (formerly known as Twitter) would now have access to features from X Premium and X Premium+, the premium membership, for free. But not every X user will be qualified, as the CEO of the business said on Thursday. On X, premium membership options offer users access to premium features including Grok, an AI chatbot developed by Musk’s business xAI. They also lessen the amount of adverts displayed on the timeline.

Musk said on X that all accounts with “over 2,500 verified subscriber followers” will be able to access services that require an X Premium membership. If you subscribe through the website, the monthly cost of an X Premium subscription in India is Rs. 650, and the yearly subscription is Rs. 6,800.

The CEO of the platform also said that users would have access to services that are presently only accessible with an X Premium+ membership, which costs Rs. 1,300 per month (if you sign up using the web interface) or Rs. 13,600 for a year, if they have more than 5,000 verified subscriber followers. Using the Android and iOS applications to sign up results in significantly increased membership costs for all four platforms.

Musk gave no explanation for allowing chosen users to access X Premium and X Premium+ capabilities, although the move follows a survey that said fewer people were using the microblogging site, which was having trouble retaining customers. The site has denied these allegations.

This implies that in order to use these features—which also include a blue verification check mark and the option to monetarily support their posts—you will require 2,500 followers who have purchased a Premium or Premium+ membership. Premium subscribers see less advertising from X, whereas Premium+ subscribers see none at all.

Features like lengthier video upload limits, character limits, background video playback, video downloads, and access to the Grok AI chatbot are all included in both membership packages. Subscribers with Premium+ access may also publish articles. Users can conceal likes and subscriptions and alter the mobile app’s design with the help of subscriptions.

There are rumors that the OnePlus Ace 3 Pro will launch in the third quarter of this year.

The Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC was the heart of the OnePlus Ace 3, which was released in January of this year. It appears that the firm is currently concentrating on the OnePlus Ace 3 Pro. The main features of the new Ace series smartphone have been reported by a Chinese source ahead of any formal confirmation. The third quarter of 2024 is when it’s expected to become official. A Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC is anticipated to be used in the OnePlus Ace 3 Pro. It could have a 1.5K resolution 8T LTPO display.

The details of the OnePlus Ace 3 Pro have been released on Weibo by Tipster Digital Chat Station (translated from Chinese). The forthcoming phone will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, according to the source. The phone is allegedly going to have an 8T LTPO curved screen with 1.5K resolution, according to the source. It is reported to have a glass construction and a metal central frame.

The third quarter of this year is reportedly when the OnePlus Ace 3 Pro will officially launch. It is reported to include a 50-megapixel main camera and allow 100W rapid charging.

OnePlus is also said to be developing a new smartphone powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 SoC. According to rumors, it will be out in the fourth quarter. It is anticipated that it will have an ultrasonic fingerprint reader. This could represent the rumored OnePlus 13.

The OnePlus Ace 2 Pro from last year will be replaced by the OnePlus Ace 3 Pro. The latter was introduced in China on August 29, 23. The base model, which came with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, cost CNY 2,999, or around Rs. 34,600.

The 6.74-inch full-HD+ (1,240×2,772 pixel) curved AMOLED display on OnePlus’s Ace 2 Pro features a refresh rate of 120Hz. The phone also has a 16-megapixel selfie camera, a triple back camera arrangement with a 50-megapixel Sony IMX890 sensor, and a 4nm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. A 5,000mAh battery that supports 150W SuperVOOC charging is housed within.

Google Pixel 9 Leaks: A Preview at its 6.03-inch Screen and Design

Every October, Google typically releases two flagship phones. The tech giant may decide to introduce three new smartphone models this year: the Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL, and Pixel 9. The CAD-based renderings that appeared online earlier this year, according to a well-known source, were of the Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro XL. Now, fresh renderings of the Pixel 9 design have been revealed by the source. The pictures point to a smaller screen and two back cameras on the Pixel 9.

The Google Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro’s CAD-based renderings initially surfaced in January of this year. The renderings that were previously released, according to tipster Steve H.McFly (@OnLeaks) and 91Mobiles, were of the Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro XL. Now, the website has released purported CAD pictures of the standard Pixel 9.

According to the recently released renderings, the Pixel 9 will have a thick back camera module and a small design. It seems to have flat frames and a flat display with rounded sides. It is said to have a 6.03-inch screen. The Pixel 9 XLs may come with a 6.5-inch screen, while the Pixel 9 Pro is said to have a 6.1-inch screen. There seems to be a hole punch cutout for a selfie camera in the middle of the screen. The phone has two back camera units visible. It is anticipated that the Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro XL would have three back cameras.

The Pixel 9 is expected to measure around 152.8×71.9×8.5mm, and 12mm with the back camera bump, according to the latest rumor.

October of last year saw the “Made by Google” event that marked the debut of Google’s Pixel 8 series, which includes the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro. As a result, the Pixel 9 phones are anticipated to be announced by the firm at about the same time this year. The company’s own Tensor G4 SoC may be used in the forthcoming smartphones, which may run Android 15.

Circle to Search: Google’s revolutionary approach to smartphone shopping and exploration.

In January of this year, Google unveiled Circle to Search alongside the Samsung Galaxy S24 series. Along with a few additional AI-powered features like Note Assist and Live Translate, this was jam-packed. But the tech giant added the capability to the Pixel 8 devices later that month with the January Pixel feature drop. The Pixel 7 range was also given access to this capability by the firm earlier in March. Google has now revealed that the Circle to Search function will be available on more Android phones.

The massive search engine located in Mountain View, California, has verified that the function is “currently rolling out to more Android devices”. It will be available on the Google Pixel 6, Pixel 6 Pro, Pixel 6a, Pixel 7a, Pixel Fold, and Pixel Tablet starting this week. Along with the Galaxy Tab S9 series, it will also be available on the Samsung Galaxy S23, S23+, S23 Ultra, S23 FE, Galaxy Z Fold 5, and Galaxy Z Flip 5.

Currently, a number of premium smartphones, including the Samsung Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, Galaxy S24 Ultra, Google Pixel 7, Pixel 7 Pro, Pixel 8, and Pixel 8 Pro, already include Google’s Circle to Search function.

In the post, Google also noted how easy it is for consumers to browse for particular designs or products using the Circle to Search function. By instantaneously translating whatever that appears on the screen, it can also help users when they go to foreign countries, particularly those where the language spoken is different from their own. To access the translate option, users just need to long-press either the home button or the navigation bar.

With a few motions, users can search anything fast without having to switch applications thanks to the Circle to Search function. Users may select the search option and circle, write, highlight, or press anything on the screen, including text, photos, and portions of images. It is intended to assist more complicated research in addition to providing information more quickly with the help of generative AI.

Samsung to Roll Out One UI 6.1 Update for Galaxy Tab S9 Series This Week, Including AI Abilities!

It is now known that on Tuesday, Samsung will reveal the release schedule for the One UI 6.1 upgrade, which will expand the availability of Galaxy AI capabilities to additional devices within the Galaxy ecosystem. The business has officially announced that the Galaxy S23 series, Galaxy S23 FE, Galaxy Z Flip 5, Galaxy Z Fold 5, and Galaxy Tab S9 series will all get AI functions. The news follows a report that claimed certain Chinese owners of the Galaxy S23 series have received notification of the latest update.

Samsung said in a media article that the One UI 6.1 upgrade, the first significant update to the One UI 6.0, which was based on Android 14 and published in October 2023, will start to roll out in the US on March 28 for the Galaxy S23 series, Galaxy S23 FE, Galaxy Z Fold 5, and Galaxy Z Flip 5. Starting this week, the update will also be available for the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 series. April is when the majority of people should start to receive the update. Although the firm made no mention of a worldwide deployment, all areas should have access to it by the end of next month.

The business stated that “Galaxy AI puts our groundbreaking suite of AI tools in the palm of more users’ hands in different form factors — tailoring the mobile experience to their needs” when making the announcement.

Earlier in March, the South Korean tech giant initially said that Galaxy AI functions will be available on additional smartphones. Users will now be able to utilize features like Circle to Search, which allows them to highlight or choose an object and conduct a visual search on Google while still within the app, after the update launches. Live Translate is an additional function that facilitates real-time, two-way speech and live caption translations during phone conversations. The One UI 6.1 upgrade will also bring Samsung’s AI-powered picture editing feature, Generative Edit, and Chat Assist in Samsung Keyboard.

According to a report published last week, during the company’s shareholders’ meeting in Seoul, TM Roh, the president of Samsung’s mobile business, mentioned that the Samsung Galaxy S22 series would include some of the Galaxy AI capabilities. According to reports, the series was disqualified from receiving the AI features since it lacked the necessary hardware.
